I went from planning my next Mountain Bike Adventure to trekking 200km along the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal from Besisahar to Pokara.
At the time I was working with lawyers on the court case involving my abuse. I was told that I could not go on my next Mountain Bike Trek that I planned to do in August 2016. Although this was not what I wanted to hear I had remembered that one of my swimming friends was planning to do the trek in Nepal. Now, in true Kenny Mac style, I thought “It’s not my normal type of adventure but let’s do this, a 200km walk in the Himalayas”.
With the okay from my Lawyers the Annapurna Trek Adventure was born.
I began my planning and lists. I always find this part of any journey uplifting and in many ways it took my mind off the court case.
In short here is the details of the company that we booked the trek through (I highly recommend them), our flight booking info and other handy information.
Advanced Adventures – Annapurna Circuit Trek (21 day/s). – I highly recommend them
China Southern Airlines. – They have a good reputation, and with a great flight schedule and a short stop over. This suited us.
Kathmandu – Great for trekking gear, especially the cold weather gear for Nepal.
Travel Doctor – They can be found in multiple locations in Australia. They had all the required vaccination on hand.
Valley Fitness – At St Marys, Sydney. They have an Altitude Chamber for assessment and training. You can organise to do this with a personal trainer.
