Today is Bravehearts White Balloon Day. I can understand that it is somewhat difficult for people to talk about, let alone listen to a person’s story of sexual abuse. This day is a symbol of support for Survivors of child sexual abuse. The people behind the name Bravehearts have generous hearts, kind speech and have an ability to truly listen to all those individuals who have gained enough courage to speak up about their abuse. This is the reason I have such a strong belief in this charity.
I’m not one to ask you to donate, donate, donate!! I would like you to think about the internal pain and then the strength to get enough courage for a victim to ask for help. You know my story, it took me forty years to talk about, there was no White Balloon Day back then. If you donate, I would like to say from the bottom of my heart, Thank-you.
